President Obama – The beginning of a new history

November 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The world awaits moments which can change the future of mankind. So far into existence, there are not many things which have not yet been seen, discovered or experienced. However, today November 5 2008, history turned and it is time to start a new chapter in the book of world history.

We should not forget what we are a part of, in 50 years when our children and grandchildren are grown adults we can tell them about the time when the first black American President was elected. We are a part of history and from this day on and it is something we as citizens of the world have right to be a part of. Our memories will bring us back to this particular day, the day when what was considered impossible, became a reality. The first black president of America has been elected and the first black representative of the most powerful nation in the world has been given full responsibility of changing the future of what has become a politically corrupted society.

We have been promised a change like no other and we have been shown a different angle of our future which is attractive due to its trust and faith. Regardless of race or origin, Barack Obama has now accepted the responsibility for the people of America, all of America. However, as a European, I know that this does not only affect the American population. November 5, 2008 now represents the day when the world changed. Barack Obama has promised the world a new time, a new future and a new life. From this day on we should remember the words of President Obama, “WE WILL GET THERE”, lead us Mr.President

Dr.Martin Luther King had a dream, November 5 ,2008 is the day it came true…

Victoria’s Secret – Skin Care

November 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Last week I traveled to Stockholm from London, through Heathrow airport. I was 3 hours early for my flight and took time to check out the free-shop. I came across the Victoria’s Sectret stand and went to check out the body lotion as well as the body mists which my friend had recommended. To my surprise they were only £5.50 each so I decided to try out the “Strawberry & Champagne ultra moisturizing hand and body cream” along with the “Love Spell – refreshing body mist”

The Strawberry and Champagne cream has a lovely scent of fresh strawberries, champagne and cassis. It gives you a new natural scent which you won’t want to let go of. It is one of them scents you know is universally liked and I can’t imagine anyone to disagree with me.

The Love Spell body mist has a scent of cherry blossom, peach and white jasmine. Now this the perfect combination of sweet, floral and sour hints. I am absolutely addicted to this product, I actually spray it on the sleeves of whatever I am wearing so I can smell it when I’m on the bus LOL. Not only is it a great female fragrance but it is apparently extremely sexy to guys. I was sitting in my friends car and I decided to spray my self with some of the body mist. NO JOKE, he actually had to stop the car after a short while on the side of the road until his…little friend had gone back to sleep HAHAHA! Yes yes ladies, this is the ultimate sex awaken-er, spray a lil poof on your neck before you go to bed, and see how the male or female next to you responds. Seriously, try it and tell me about it because I know for a fact that this product gives that little oh so needed sex life boost.

That is Victoria’s Secret ;)

Giambattista Valli – “Victoria shoes”

November 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Victoria Shoe – by Giambattista Valli

They have been discussed and rated by almost anyone involved in the fashion business. The Victoria shoe by Giambattista Valli were designed and ideally made to be worn firstly by British fashion diva, Victoria Beckham. I must say I love the robust touch of this extremely high heel shoe. However, as with many fashion trends we need to be realistic and ask if these really can be worn comfortably in every day life. The answer is yes and no depending on experience. I wear high heels every day and I find it very flattering to my posture and my confidence. However these shoes did nothing but give me back ace and made me feel like a cheap version of Pamela Anderson. I am just sharing my honest view and these heels are just too much for my taste.  They look nice on their own, however when I looked down at my feet I felt like Bigfoot. I’m not a very big fan of the huge platform, no matter how much taller they made me. They are uncomfortable and very risky to walk in. Try them yourself and you will know what I mean…

They are roughly £600-£800 and they come in as many colors as you can imagine.

Miss Dior Cherie

November 5, 2008 · 1 Comment

Miss Dior Cherie

I cannot explain in words how much i love Miss Dior Cherie. It has everything I personally expect of a luxury perfume, if not more.  The scent of Miss Dior Cherie may seem a bit strong, however that is where the power of the perfume lies. I usually spray the perfume 3 times in the morning and I know that it will stay on till the very end of the night. Therefore, Miss Dior Cherie is not strong, it is just extremely long lasting which is nothing but a good thing.

and ladies, the male response for this perfume has shown nothing but positive outcomes ;)

Långholmen – Stockholm, Sweden

August 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

www.langhalmen.com

In the middle of all the automobile action and stress in the southern part of central Stockholm, you can find a fairly hidden island to get away from the typical downtown-city life. What is very special about Långholmen is its history and what it has developed into. Before Långhålmen evolved into one of the main tourist attractions in Stockholm, it used to be used as a prison for the most brutal criminals of Sweden. You can almost call it the Alcatraz of Scandinavia. However, luckily for this day and age, the beautiful sights of Långholmen can now be enjoyed by the many tourists who visit every summer along with the local community.

The fact that the island contains of many solid rock hills, makes the different sight very private. Meaning that even though there is a high number of visitors every day, you can still easily manage to find a private spot for a quiet picnic on one of the top hills. The view on these hills is what I would say magnificent, they over view the main parts of central Stockholm and also the water that runns through the southern and northern part of Central.

If you prefer to be accompanied by people and like the more noisy and lively sight of Långholmen, the beach, restaurants, many cafés and the daily summer festivals are the perfect choices. Also, if you are a tourist visiting Långholmen, the hotel as well as the youth hostel offer plenty of bedsits for reasonable prices.

I was born and raised in Sweden, I do realize that the Swedish culture may not be famous for being very friendly and welcoming. However, when I used to work in one of the first cafés when entering the island I was approached with a different kind of Swedish culture which I had never noticed before. Maybe there is something about Långholmen which changes people and gives them the memory of what friendliness really is. I am not sure why this is, however i do know that Långholmen is worth visiting during the summer. A six pack of Carlsberg, a few sandwiched and some good music at Långolmen is all you need to experience the perfect Swedish summer.

Jergens Natural Glow

August 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

When you go on holiday, you expect to return home with a gorgeous tan which you can show off for at least another 2 months. However, to get that same effect in the middle of the freezing winter can be quite a project. Self tanning products claim to supply that same effect we strive to obtain, however instead we often seem to end up looking like orange aliens from Mars.

Jergens Natural Glow is one of those orange self tanning products. As oppose to getting the “natural glow” they claim to be linked to in the product, I got the “natural glow” of an orange. The product stayed on for a good while, even after 4 showers my skin looked and felt like it had been freshly sunbathing. This is good in the way that the product lasts longer, however it also means that if you apply it in the wrong way, you are stuck looking like a pancake for about a week, so be careful! However, since it is a daily moisturizer it takes a while to notice the mistakes. I still recommend Dove Summer Glow!

However, all intimate products like these react differently to different people, therefore I can only speak for my self and how my skin reacted to the product. But if it helps, I have middle eastern roots and natural pale skin lol. Good luck turning brown, or orange in my case.

Camden Market

August 4, 2008 · 1 Comment

If you are visiting London, even for a day, a trip to Camden market should definitely be one of your main priorities. It is not only for the crazy shopping and the unexpected items you might find there, but also for the range of different people. When walking down the street towards Camden market you will bump into hard core punk rockers, fashionable super models, kids, veterans and maybe even a few celebrities. Camden is truly a place for everyone and what I noticed most of all is that people mind their own businesses. You can be dressed in a pink speedo and I really do not believe that people would react as strongly as anywhere else in London.

The choice of shopping stretches from sexy little transparent thongs to blue furry Bible book covers. It is obviously a place for the impulsive shopper as Camden Market is a place for non-refundable items. But that is not a problem, the prices are extremely cheap and even if you buy something and then decide that it was a mistake, you won’t feel bad that you’ve wasted too much money on it.

Food is also a big thing in Camden, you will find plenty different take away stands and different choices of food. Chinese, Turkish, Greek, Polish, American and a few crepes here and there. The most delightful think about Camden must also bee the big monuments attached to the upper walls of the houses. You can eat your food as you look at the crazy decorations and features to the buildings. Camden almost looks like a theme park and indeed it is!

As a conclusion I would like to add that Ive been to Camden almost everyday this week and I am not sick of it yet. Everyday I visit I find new and more interesting little corners to shop in.

Visit Camden, it is definitely an experience!
